KRISTIAN AADNEVIK – LONDON F/W 2012 FASHION SHOW
A protégé of Donatella Versace, London-based Norwegian designer Kristian Aadnevik attempted to encapsulate the wild, powerful nature of the North in his Fall 2012 collection. Aadnevik wanted his looks to be contradictorily powerful and frail at the same time. Looser elements, such as the chiffon gowns, were juxtaposed with leather leggings, statements jackets, and sculptural dresses with hair and stud detailing. The collection was largely monochromatic with accents of gold and red. This season Aadnevik’s portrayed the animalistic side of womanhood, and the result was mysterious, dark, and surprisingly soulful.
