The New York Academy of Art and Sotheby’s are set to present the 31st annual Take Home a Nude Auction & Benefit on Monday, October 16th at Sotheby’s NYC. This year’s auction party will honor artist Salman Toor. The annual event’s proceeds go towards supporting the academy’s programs and scholarships for students. This year’s event chairs are Alan Cumming, Glenn & Amanda Fuhrman, Scott Rothkopf, and Charles Stewart & Caterina Heil Stewart. Benefit committee members include Eileen Guggenheim & Russell Wilkinson, Brooke Shields & Chris Henchy, Padma Lakshmi, fashion designer Cynthia Rowley, Nicole Miller & Kim Taipale, Naomi Watts & Billy Crudup, Liev Schreiber, skincare brand owner Peter Thomas Roth, and historians Barbara Guggenheim & Alan Patricof among others.
Honoree Salman Toor’s detailed paintings show the everyday moments of young, fictional, brown men in modern city life. His art moves between uplifting and distressing, alluring and touching, welcoming and mysterious. The auction will feature a number of artworks including those by artists Jessica Lichtenstein, Kate Clark, Fahren Feingold, Irina Lakshin, and Indira Cesarine, artist and founder of The Untitled Magazine.

The Tribeca-based graduate school aims to serve as a hub for creativity and learning in art. It stands to support and inspire new artists through traditional learning methods and stay updated on modern-day approaches.
