The prestigious New York Academy of Art is gearing up for its highly anticipated event, the 2024 Tribeca Ball, set to take place on Monday, April 1st. This year’s event will honor contemporary artist Neil Jenney, with proceeds benefiting the school’s scholarship and public programming funds.
Recognized for his groundbreaking fusion of realism and conceptual art, Jenney’s profound artistic vision has resonated across generations, shaping the contemporary art landscape. Jenney rose to prominence in the 1960s and 1970s with his distinctive style characterized by bold, graphic imagery and philosophical depth. He gained recognition for his pioneering exploration of the relationship between image and text, often incorporating both elements into his work to challenge traditional notions of representation.
The evening begins at 6 PM with a VIP Preview for dinner guests featuring cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, interactive installations, stilt walkers, contortionists, one-night-only exhibitions, and surprise musical performances throughout the five floors of studios. As dinner guests are sat at 8 PM, the Academy welcomes a second wave of ticket buyers for its Studio Party from 8-10 PM.
