QUENTIN VERON – HAUTE COUTURE BACKSTAGE
Quentin Veron’s Haute Couture, entitled Gangsters, was inspired by the aesthetics of extremely stylish criminals. Male and female models stalked the runway in open vests, long coats, cropped jackets, and body suits. The look was androgynous, dark, and fluid. The collection was done almost entirely in black, and was given texture with patent leather, feathers, metallics, and leather detailing. An occasional wide pin stripe pattern—a nod to the mobster era—was seen. Metal chain finishes were draped on vests and belts and spikes erupted from shoulder pads. Magnificent top hats and fedoras adorned models’ heads to punctuate their looks.
