The spring collection for Renzo + Kai was inspired by the “Bon Vivant” attitude and the café society generation of the 1930’s. The romance and intrigue around this era is a call to the retro glamour of old Hollywood film sirens. Marlene Dietrich’s beautiful cabaret singer in the 1930 film The Blue Angel, captures the Joie De Vivre and essence of the Renzo + Kai. Feminine and brightly colored – but never too flashy – hand beaded and sequined tops and cocktail dresses make up the core of the collection. Created with the finest fabrics, these stunning and often simple silhouettes underscore the luxe, worldly prowess of the clothes and the wearer. The presentation took place on the roof of the Empire hotel, with breakfast and champagne being served to guests while they mingled with models wearing the collection.
