Dover Street Market Paris, the eighth DSM and the first in France opened on May 24th, 2024. DSMP is located at 35-37 rue des Franc-Borgeois Paris in the historic Hôtel de Coulanges. Designed by Rei Kawakubo, the mind behind Comme des Garçons, Dover Street Market Paris spans 1100 sqm across the ground, first floors, and a basement. Other basements and a courtyard will entertain art, literary, musical, and community events. The store, embodying “Beautiful Chaos” and “New Chaos,” focuses on exploration.
The design intends to take shoppers on a voyage of discovery. No clothing will be visible from outside the store and there will be no dedicated spaces for brands, and the owners plan to invite artists to “invade the store itself” with installations and exhibitions in the spirit of the Creative Association 3537, the building’s former occupants.
“DSMP is therefore an experiment in the un-understanding of the next steps in our journey. It will not only be another shop. It is in fact already a building in which we hope to build and open a new pathway ahead, building on everything we have accomplished and daring to tread in the unknown.”
– Adrian Joffe
Until June 27th, there is an installation and exhibition titled “Comme des Garçons for and by Paolo Roversi” in the courtyard. In the basement, there is an installation by Matty Bovan that will run until June 6th.
Main brands include Comme des Garçons, Maison Margiela, and Prada, while brands like All-In and Hodakova are exclusive to the Paris location. A wide range of sneakers and shoes are available, including Nike and Adidas. Special collections by Matty Bovan and Charles Jeffrey Loverboy are also offered, but like all other DSM locations, DSMP aims to evolve continuously, embracing change in a unique retail space.
