Sarah Charlesworth is only a couple weeks into her exhibition at the New Museum. The exhibition entitled Sarah Charlesworth: Doubleworld, opened on June 24th and will continue until September 20th.
The female artist, known to explore and capture the pivotal roles of imagery in today’s culture, will be featuring some of her best work from the project “Stills.” “Stills” includes a collection of fourteen large works that were rephotographed from press images and hauntingly depict people falling or jumping from buildings. The projects seeks to explore the world as an optical universe and impact the overall experience of the audience.
This will be Sarah Charlesworth’s first exhibition showing her work in New York. In addition to “Stills,” the exhibition will include over fifty diverse works that have inspired her throughout her career.
