The 2017 Seattle Art Fair is gaining traction, with 100 exhibitors and approximately 22,500 guests this year, which is a 25% increase from last year’s attendance. The Seattle Art Fair is the Pacific Northwest’s destination for modern and contemporary art, founded by Paul G. Allen and is co-produced by Vulcan Inc. and Art Market Productions.
Noteable guests throughout the weekend include Dale Chihuly & Leslie Jackson Chihuly, Sylvia Wolf, Lidia Andich from Gagosian Gallery, Elizabeth Sullivan from Pace Gallery, Firoz Lalji, and many more.
“The programming has taken a strong focus on public engagement. Thanks to our robust cultural partnerships, the deep level of engagement among our audience, and of course the contributions from both local and international artists.”
– Laura Fried, the Artistic Director of the Seattle Art Fair
Some highlights of the fair were the diverse lineups of projects and talks that include Dylan Mira and Erika Vogt’s new collaboration Pool at the historic Union Station, SFMOMA curator Jenny Gheith in conversation with Gagosian artist Nancy Rubins on the artist’s prolific career, and Ellen Lesperance’s W.I.T.C.H. performances in Occidental Square.
