Lehmann Maupin
407 Pedder Building
12 Pedder Street
Central, Hong Kong
September 12 – November 9
For her first solo show in Hong Kong, Teresita Fernández continues her investigation of historical landscape painting, which she explored in a recent sculptural installation in Shanghai titled, Yellow Mountains, after the Huangshan mountain range in Eastern China. Fernandez’s new paintings are created with India ink on gold-chromed panels, which subtly reflect the surrounding environment and insert the viewer into the landscape. A large-scale wall installation composed of graphite will also be on view.
Lehmann Maupin has represented Teresita Fernández since 2001. This will be her sixth exhibition with the gallery. The artist lives and works in Brooklyn.
