The Other Festival is back for a second year in Downtown Brooklyn. Dee Poku, the festival’s founder, partnered with non-profit GLAM4GOOD to create an inclusive and empowering festival. Featuring an all female line-up, The Other Festival will showcase influencers, entrepreneurs, entertainers and creators with the goal of educating, inspiring, and empowering women. Taking place October 14th and 15th, this festival will feature 70 speakers, 20 panels, 25 designers, and 16 musical acts. Food for the festival will be provided by Dekalb Market Hall located at City Point. Some highlights from The Other Festival will include, talks by Laura Brown, Jenna Lyons, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Marilyn Minter, Jenne Lombardo, performances by break-out musical duo Lion Babe – Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman, and work by artists and creatives including Make Love Not Porn, Norma Kamali, NOVA, and CF Goldman. You can see The Other Festival’s site to find a full list of all the incredible speakers, performers, panelists, and artists you’ll find this October and don’t forget to grab your tickets.
“The Other Festival was specifically created to address the lack of inclusion we saw across the festival landscape. We’re so proud of the unique and diverse mix of speakers, exhibitors and performers we’ve attracted to the event. Our goal is to give female founders access to practical tools, connectivity and culture in the city with the largest percentage of women-led start-ups – Brooklyn! This is a one of a kind event and I’m excited to see where this can go.” – Dee Poku, The Other Festival Founder.
