The Untitled Space presents a solo show of paintings, “Fleeting Moment,” by artist Anna Salenko, with select works on display at The Untitled Space from December 15 – December 22, 2023, along with an online exclusive on Artsy through February 2024.
Anna Salenko (b. 1990) is an artist exploring human emotions and connections, seeking to create a human presence through her art. Born in Vladivostok, Russia, she currently lives and works in Hong Kong. She received a BA in Philosophy at L’Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi, Rome, Italy, followed by a degree in Fashion at the Instituto Europeo di Design, Milan, Italy, and a degree in studio art from the School of Fine Art, Vladivostok, Russia. Inspired by daily encounters, she emphasizes traditional oil painting techniques to create her abstract figurative works, paying homage to her cultural background.
Her unique style is a fusion of cultures and captures the intersection of the visible world with our inner thoughts and perceptions. Educated in Russia and Italy, Anna’s paintings have been widely exhibited around the world, including Italy, France, the Netherlands, China, Japan, Russia, and more. She has also participated in artistic residencies at the School of Visual Arts in New York and Ateliers d’art, Le Glandier, France, broadening her creative horizons. Recent and upcoming exhibitions include a solo show at the CICA Museum in Korea, a group show, “Sensitive,” in Hong Kong, and her first US solo exhibition to debut in person and online at The Untitled Space.
“I’m exploring human emotions and connections through my art. My paintings are based on my daily experiences of people around me. I want to create a human presence in my work without the need to depict it entirely, maintaining a level of mystery. By portraying the body as a reflection of emotions, I often exaggerate certain elements of the paint on canvas to convey a rich dialogue.” – Anna Salenko.
