CELEBRATING LATINX HERITAGE MONTH

(Latinx is a general neutral, nonbinary term used to describe a person of Latin American origin or descent)

From September 15 to October 15, we celebrate Latinx Heritage Month by saluting the histories, cultures, and influence that of American citizens whose ancestors traveled from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central, and South America.

What initially began as a week-long celebration in 1968, signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson, got amplified by President Ronald Reagan in 1988, who extended it to a month-long celebration.

Let’s take a moment to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month and the women who helped make it what it is.
