CHANEL – PARIS F/W 2011 FASHION SHOW

CHANEL – PARIS F/W 2011 FASHION SHOW – VIDEO BY XXXX MAGAZINE

“The world is a dark place,” said Karl Lagerfeld after the latest Chanel spectacle. Taking inspiration from the gloomy grandeur of German artists Caspar David Friedrich and Anselm Keifer, models walked amidst smouldering volcanoes and black sand, with remnants flaming smoke rising from the sides of the runway.  The collection boasted of a lot of black just like that volcanic ash, flecked with white and gray. The outfits were shadowy, with man-sized proportions, with rounded shoulders, skirts made of shredded chiffon, tunics and capes had a neo-medieval twit to them – all adding up to Lagerfeld’s grungy fairytale.
