Almine Rech Gallery is presenting the second exhibition of German artist Daniel Lergon, at the Brussels’ Gallery.
For his second solo exhibition at Almine Rech Gallery in Brussels, Berlin based artist Daniel Lergon (born in 1978) presents works from his latest series, in which pulverised iron or copper coated canvases serve as painting bases. Through the painting process of acidified water, these oxidise and colours then arise.
While light sensitive material, such as fluorescent or retro-reflexive weaving fabric, played a major role in Lergon’s previous series, this time “chemical charged” metal surfaces will be shown and their potentials activated and pictorially treated. During the exhibition, one’s attention will be especially drawn towards the interaction of iron and copper works with a central diptych consisting of both metals.
