HEXA BY KUHO – PARIS F/W 2012 FASHION SHOW
The Fall 2012 collection of Hexa by Kuho, designed by Kuho Jung, is all about love in its duality; love has the power to cause both extreme happiness and disastrous sorrow. Jung was inspired by the embodiment of both these extremes in those famous star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. The looks referenced archival clothing from the Renaissance period, in which Romeo and Juliet lived, but they were created in menswear fabrics giving, as Jung put it, a “confliction of gender identity.” The mixing of menswear structure and fabric with womanly detailing and fit represented the interplay of the couple in love, while the heavy winter fabrics represented love’s burden on the wearer.
