70S CHIC WITH LINDSAY ELLINGSON

When Lindsay Ellingson isn’t busy whipping up a cosmetic concoction for Wander Beauty, the brand she co-founded with Divya Gugnani in 2015, she’s striking a pose in front of the camera. The makeup mogul got her start walking the runway for the likes of Chanel, Christian Dior, Valentino and Gucci (she’s also a Victoria’s Secret Angel).

Ellingson took some time channel her inner 70s goddess for an exclusive shoot for Untitled and answer a few questions about her beauty routine.

Tina: If you have 7 minutes to do your makeup what do you do?

Lindsay: I have a 4-step beauty routine that is my go-to on busy mornings or while traveling. I use Wander Beauty’s Frame Your Face brow pencil to fill in my shape with hair-like strokes. I think brows are the most important feature on your face so I never skip this step, especially since thick and balanced brows can take years off anyone. I always apply our Unlashed mascara. My lashes are very blonde, so it’s a quick way to instantly transform my look. My third step is concealing. I use our Dualist concealer, which has a full coverage matte stick and illuminating liquid in one component—perfect for touch-ups on the go! Finally, I apply a tinted balm to my lips and cheeks. I love our Beach Balm in Dulce, a caramel rose shade. It’s enriched with nourishing shea butter and prickly pear extract for instant hydration.

What Wander Beauty products are you coveting lately?

I’m loving our Lipsetter, which is a hydrating cream lipstick and matching liner in one. We just launched a new shade called Flirty in Fiji, a fun coral pink that’s the perfect pop of color for spring and summer. I’m also obsessed with Glowtion, an illuminating liquid which Tina applied to the high points of my face and body to keep my skin glowing for this shoot. I like to mix it with my moisturizer for extra radiant and youthful skin.

Are you religious about your skincare regime or do you like to change it up and try new products or facials?

I love to experiment with the latest beauty tools, facials and products! One of my favorites is Ildi Pekar’s lift facial which uses microcurrent to tighten facial muscles and depuff the face. I’m obsessed with masks as well. I use Wander Beauty’s gold foil eye masks enriched with camu camu fruit and hyaluronic acid twice a week to keep my under eyes bright and fresh. I also recently bought a facial cupping set. It’s a little scary to use at first, but the results are immediate and it gives your skin a nice healthy flush. Some products are so good I always go back to them, like Dr Lancer’s Polish, which is the best microdermabrasion scrub I’ve ever tried.

Your hair is amazing! Besides good genes, what and who do you owe that to?

Thanks to my dad! I use sulfate free shampoos and don’t use heated styling tools unless of course I’m shooting. Right now I’m loving Playa haircare. The formulas are gentle yet effective and the scent is soft and beachy. I’ve also been treating my ends with raspberry seed oil which is rich in vitamin E and folic acid which helps to keep hair strong.

Can you share some goals and plans for Wander Beauty?

We just celebrated 3 years and our team is growing. We also just launched at Revolve and are moving to a bigger office. We plan to continue expanding globally. Right now, I’m working on a new mascara with my product development team. It’s a fun challenge to create a mascara that’s even more volumizing than our Unlashed mascara, a 4-time beauty award winner, but we are getting close and I can’t wait to share it next year! My goal is to constantly innovate. It’s such a passion of mine to bring something new to women’s beauty routines.
