PARKCHOONMOO – NEW YORK – SPRING / SUMMER 2013 FASHION SHOW
Asian culture served as one of the largest creative inspirations during Fashion Week, and Parkchoonmoo was no different. Designer Choon Moo Park drew heavily from her own Korean culture, as reflected in her update and reappropriation of the “hanbok,” a traditional Korean garnet. The lightweight uniform served as clear inspiration for the whole line, as evidenced by the loose fit and flowy silhouette. The color palate was based on South Korea’s national colors, with creamy whites, candy apple reds, dark blacks and sapphire blues. And the fabrics that the fashion house utilized (simple cotton, leather, mesh and more), Parkchoonmoo made a careful and elegant splash.
