Volkshaus Basel
Rebgasse 12-14,
4058 Basel, Switzerland
Switzerland’s first and only international art fair, Photo Basel, was founded in 2015, quickly developing into one of the most prominent photography fairs. Bringing together galleries from around the world, the fair gives viewers an active platform to engage with the photography community. In preparation for the 2023 fair, Photo Basel has announced the participating galleries for its 8th edition. As in previous years, Photo Basel will take place at the Volkshaus Basel from June 13th – 18th, 2023 coinciding with Art Basel.
Spotlighting artists from 10 different countries, the fair will feature 38 unique exhibitors. In addition to the main section of the fair, Photo Basel will host a curated program in hopes of developing viewers’ “appreciation for, understanding of, and conversations about the medium of photography, its positions, and its practices.” Photo Basel aims to provide its viewers the chance to connect with work from galleries across the medium, from historic to contemporary and underrated to established.
“During Art Basel week, we want to enhance and nourish the creative trade of all the major art players within and around photography.” – Photo Basel
