November 2 – December 15
Fabien Castanier Gallery announces “Metallic Tissue,” an exhibition featuring new work by Kelly “RISK” Graval, which will open on November 2 and run through December 15 and curated by graffiti historian, Roger Gastman. For this exhibition, Graval explores his versatility with the various mediums and styles he has experimented with in his fruitful thirty-year career. While the majority of his recent work graces the walls of cities around the world, RISK sees the gallery space as a venue with no limits. He will take advantage of the gallery setting to create an environment unlike anything else, melding elements from the natural habitat of his studio into the gallery to break the boundaries of the physical paintings themselves.
Kelly “RISK” Graval is a Los Angeles-based graffiti artist who has been active in the thriving LA scene for over three decades. A pioneer of aerosol art, Graval is well-known for pushing creative boundaries, being one of the first artist to paint subway cars, bombing whole cities with his WCA (West Coast Artists) crew, as well as taking on a number of creative solo endeavors. He attended the Pasadena Art Institute as well as the University of Southern California.
The Fabien Castanier Gallery is a contemporary art gallery focusing on urban art, photography, and fine art. Its mission is to introduce both established and emerging artists from all over the world to its west coast audience.
