Since 1994, The Armory Show has been an anchor for Armory Arts Week and a meeting point for the international art community. For it’s 23rd edition the fair has five sections, including the brand new Platform which sees specially curated artists and galleries show ambitious projects that utilize the space of Piers 92 & 94. The debut exhibition of Platform is called The Incident, curated by Eric Shiner, it features the work of 14 artists. Longstanding section, Galleries, features 20th and 21st century artwork from around the globe. Insights focuses on solo and duo artist shows and thematic presentations from the 20th century. Presents is a platform for emerging galleries and artists. Finally, Focus is the vision of an annually appointed curator. This year, Jarrett Gregory has organized 12 artists to present political and socially themed work under the title What Is To Be Done?
