The 22nd Annual Armory Show has become more international than ever before with 204 participating galleries from 36 countries. Located at Piers 92 and 94 from March 3rd to 6th, presence will be not only from American and European galleries, but also from African, Asian, Caribbean, and Latin American exhibitors as well.
Pier 94 will house contemporary works from 113 international galleries. Participants include London’s Laura Bartlett Gallery, Paris’ Galerie Bugada and Cargnel, and Berlin’s Galerie Guido W. Baudach. There will also be first time galleries from Tel Aviv, Lisbon, and Havana to name a few. Pier 92 will include 55 galleries featuring modern works, museum quality presentations, and historical surveys from multiple cities including New York, London, and Barcelona.
Armory Presents, now in its third edition, will highlight galleries with emerging programs with single and duel artist presentations. Highlights include Ed Fornieles altering his booth into an international data hub. Armory Focus, highlights the artistic landscape of a different region each year. For the 2016 Armory Show the focus is on African Perspectives and will show contemporary African viewpoints.
First timers at The Armory Show will include galleries from Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Kenya, and Nigeria. Tickets for the 2016 Armory Show can be purchased online.
