JESSICA LICHTENSTEIN
DO THE MAKE A SOUND
A few stunning artworks by Jessica Lichtenstein are still available from her celebrated solo show “…Do They Make A Sound?” presented by The Untitled Space at Spring/Break Art Show 2020. Artist Jessica Lichtenstein uses the female body as a mechanism to explore deeper themes of power, female representation, and objectification. Her work plays with the boundaries of commercialization, consumerism, fantasy and propriety, provoking tensions that challenge the viewer. Her faceless, repeating effeminate forms represent both the community of women in the world and the individual characteristics that make up a single woman. Varied body positions differentiate each figure and yet harmoniously contribute to the texture of the leafy, vibrant trees that unifies them.
Explore artworks from “THE LABYRINTH,” the installation and exhibition by artist and The Untitled Space founder, Indira Cesarine featuring photography, video, painting, and sculpture, emphasizing her female gaze on Surrealism. “This exhibition is inspired by the maze of life, the power of human connection, emotion and experience – combined with the surreal nature of the unknown.”
