Singer Tove Lo‘s newest album “Lady Wood” will be released on October 28th, but until then Tove Lo, featured in our #GirlPower issue, has been teasing singles and a music video. First there was the release of “Cool Girl”, and now the much anticipated track “Influence” ft. Wiz Khalifa is out.
Until the release of her album, Tove Lo won’t be content with just resting on her laurels. The Grammy nominated, and multi platinum record selling artist just started her North American tour with Maroon 5.
This album will be her second, with Queen of the Clouds being her debut. When editor in chief Indira Cesarine spoke to her back in November of 2014, she said of her influences:
“For me, it’s really about the pattern of my relationships. Initially how it starts is very passionate. I’ve never really grown in love with someone; either it’s right away or it’s not happening (…) ‘The Pain’ is when something that’s been very passionate and very intense ends.” -Tove Lo
Now with one album and many shows under her belt, and definitely the same themes evoked in her lyrics and video so far, the singer will be able to show even more depth into the personal emotions channeled into her work. “Cool Girl” features two different scenarios and is part of a bigger series, to be released in chunks to keep us waiting for more, which we definitely are.
