We Are Here: Scenes from the Streets
International Center of Photography
79 Essex St, New York 10002
September 27-January 6, 2025

This fall, the International Center of Photography will be presenting the exhibit titled, “We Are Here: Scenes from the Streets”. It will be on view from September 27 up to January 6 of next year. For the rest of 2024, ICP plans to “explore ideas that expand our understanding of photography as a medium, discuss the works that redefine and introduce us to new perspectives, and honor the unsung and emerging pioneers in the field.”

The museum will spotlight street photography through the work of these intergenerational and geographically disparate artists, encouraging an expansive re-viewing of “street photography”. There will be over 30 international photographers involved in this exhibit, including Devin Allen, Shoichi Aoki, Farnaz Damnabi, Debrani Das, Romuald Hazoumè, Youcef Krache, Josué Rivas, Randa Shaath, Jamel Shabazz, Trevor Stuurman, Alexey Titarenko, and Nontsikelelo Veleko.

As stated in the press release, “It opens up important discussions on how “the street” and public space are places of community, joy, and self-expression as well as advocacy, changing landscapes, and social dynamics as seen through the photographer’s lens.”
