This year’s Met Gala sparkled in its annual spectacle of beauty and grace. Themed “The Garden of Time,” the Met Gala in promotion of The Costume Institute’s new exhibit Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, celebrities packed the red carpet and beguiled audiences (gawking on social media) in a variety of ensembles worthy of fairytale princesses in addition to ultra-modern chic-ware. A common trend this year was florals and sleek, contemporary monochrome. Have a look at the best outfits from the Met Gala 2024.

As this year’s surprise performer, Ariana Grande performed a set of hits and new songs from her latest album, eternal sunshine, in the front of the Temple of Dendur. In keeping with the fairytale theme, she opened with “Once Upon a Dream” from the original Disney film, Sleeping Beauty. Capping off her set, she sang “When You Believe” alongside Wicked co-star, Cynthia Erivo. Additionally, FKA twigs debuted a new song at one of the night’s many after-parties, the Top of the Standard, better known as the Boom Boom Room. Elsewhere, Lana Del Rey looked ethereal singing a lullaby for Vogue, and Cynthia Erivo sang her own lullaby as well.
