Following her widely celebrated collaboration with American Apparel, KESH introduced the next chapter of her work, PROJECT KITT with a solo art exhibit entitled W@WW during Art Basel Miami Beach 2013.
The one-night-only exhibition took place on Friday, December 6th, 2013 from 7PM – 10PM featuring ten large-scale pieces and an installation of the videos KESH produced for an immersive experience.
In September 2013, KESH took down her studio, THE CAVE, in downtown Los Angeles and relocated to the Redwoods of Northern California to disconnect and ultimately reconnect stronger than ever. PROJECT KITT is an exploration of the effects of mass media on the human mind; a combination of visuals and sound that offer the questions: WHAT ARE WE WORSHIPPING, WHO ARE WE WORSHIPING, WHY ARE WE WORSHIPPING.
Leading up the exhibit, KESH released a collection of five emotionally driven installments. These installments, in video format, depict KESH’s feelings/statements accompanied by sound and visuals that openly question the direction of popular culture. The ten pieces of artwork shown at W@WW during Art Basel correlate to the previously released five installments. “After figuring it out internally, I took a look at the external. It was no longer about ME.ME.ME. It was about WE” states KESH.
