KIM PETRAS SMUTS OUT ON NEW MIXTAPE ‘SLUT POP MIAMI’

Kim Petras has released Slut Pop Miami, the sequel to her 2022 mixtape Slut Pop. Like its predecessor, frequent collaborator Dr. Luke has produced Miami entirely. Bold-text NSFW in nature, the new mixtape doubles down on the sex-positive modus operandi that Petras congealed in its prequel. Following the surprise release of her long-awaited, leaked, and once-shelved 2023 effort, Problématique, Miami is a return to her gaudiest and sleaziest form: another joyride of sweaty dark-room debauchery. Positively dickmatized, Petras indulges her basest desires in no uncertain terms on the porno-pop project. This is the kind of record you don’t take home to your mom and dad.

It’s also the kind of record you can hardly imagine anywhere else outside the club and nascent TikTok memes. Dripping in come-on’s and cumshots, Slut Pop Miami is a quickie with a runtime of just under 24 minutes. Guiding the night’s sexcapades with her signature pout and blasé, Petras works the floor like a femmebot fit for your pleasure. Miami, much like its sister, is dumb, carnal fun. Don’t think too hard about the often nonsensical lyrics. Just get hard.

Kim Petras is a trailblazer for trans women in mainstream pop music today. Known for her hit collaboration with nonbinary artist Sam Smith, “Unholy,” Petras has made a name for herself with proudly queer and unabashedly sex-forward pop music. After an initial era of solely single drops, Petras eventually released her first project, Clarity, in 2019. She followed up with her proper debut studio album, Feed The Beast, in 2023.
