The 2015 Marc Jacobs beauty collection debuts Le Marc, the lipstick, advertised as “lip creme;” a “luxury lipstick that lasts.” A lipstick that goes on smoothly but stays on for the day is a holy grail of lip products, just like the no-clump mascara is for eye makeup. Marc Jacobs promises that Le Marc has an intensely saturated, one-swipe color that will last ten hours. The concentrated color-boost pigments in the lipsticks are triple-milled and steeped in hydrating ingredients, making lips soft and colorful, as all lips want to be.
Other ingredients in Le Marc lipsticks include antioxidant-rich seaberry, natural humectants, such as meranti and cocoa butter, and powerful peptides, plumping everything up to the next level. There are 20 new hues, with names that include “Oh Miley,” “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” “Rei of Light,” and “Boy Gorgeous.” They are inspired by the women (and men) who have inspired Marc over the years. With just one swipe lasting 10 hours, the math turns out in favor of the $30 lipsticks. But we’ll have to try them to see if they will, along with the stars and starlets they’re named after, really leave their mark.
