Kasia Kay Art Projects will be presenting Mike Wong’s The Dramatics of Living, his first solo exhibition with the Gallery. The show, curated by Stefania Carrozzini, is composed of several mixed media works.
The Dramatics of Living is an original approach of how Mike views life in recursive forms, paradoxical codes within the complex structures. The audience walks through the journey of living and finally come to the video installation to unburden themselves so that they can be free – to unlearn and learn again.
Mike Wong Joon Fong, a Singaporean multi-media artist, uses painting, video and installation to construct a fresh take on the Abstract Expressionist style. A master of both Western and Chinese artistic traditions, Wong additionally hones in on his engineering background to create a truly unique artistic voice. Wong’s expressive work highlights his action-based artistic process and simultaneously works to personify the medium itself. Through the use of multiple medias, Wong engineers a visual conversation based in emotive and physical expression.
