Novum
“Novum” is a newly created sector for Photo Basel. The sector will show off works that have never before been shown. All of the Novum exhibits are made up of new pieces created for Photo Basel. Novum will also feature pre-existing bodies of work that have not yet been revealed to the public.
Maurice de Maurice Award
The newly created “Maurice de Maurice Award” will be awarded this year for the first time, and Maurice de Maurice himself will award the winner. Then the famous Swiss watchmaker will buy an outstanding photographic position. Finally, the winner’s work will be added to Photo Basel’s art collection.
Some upcoming highlights include a Photo Basel Spotlight on “Zero Baseline Photography” by Patricia von Ah. There will also be daily panel talkbacks. The Swiss magazine Annabelle will choose a selection of female artists to highlight at the fair to further recognize women’s contributions to art.
