MARBLE FOR YOUR INNER ARTIST
If you’re already suffering FOMO (fear of missing out) from the latest trends at NYFW, don’t worry. Here’s your medicine with a bit of romance, punk, and a splash of water.
This punk look begins with thin streaks of watercolor laid over MAC’s “lipglass”. Eckhaus Latta´s spring 2019 show marbleized every lip with a super-glossy base, then streaked with shades of bright aqua or blue.
Get it, girl! it´s easy: first, add a coat of clear lipglass, and then just lay thin stripes of watered Kryolan Aquacolor paint, letting the pigment melt. After all, punk has always been about defiance.
MARC JACOB’S CANDY SHOP SHOW
Marc Jacobs rocked the runway with a sweet lollypop palette, dyeing models’ hair in all shades of cotton candy pastels. Makeup matched every hair tone with rainbow eyeshadow which are absolutely wearable.
Violet, pink, and even red pastels painted Marc’s sophisticated world; with some Hitchcock retro references. This is definitely a sublime matchy-matchy spring look.
NOT ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD, MAYBE IT IS THIS NATURAL SKIN LOOK
Mattifying primers and powders are out of the scene. Shine was deliberately added to many shows: Michael Kors featured a glowy finish and gloss on models’ cheekbones for a sweet vibe and fresh look.
Skin is not just natural for this season, it’s also positively shiny! Real life calls for a luminous cream texture and a pearly effect. After all, we’re humans and beauty is also about skin care.
ENTERING THE SPLASH ZONE
Calvin Klein‘s runway was an invite to a swimming pool party. Models wore dripping-wet hair and no makeup (nope, not even waterproof mascara)!
A Jaws tank top added waves to this really fresh -and 100% clean- hairstyle that adapts 80’s surf style for city girls. The good news? You can get this look for free; all you need is water.
