ANTI-EXPLOITATION – BY LARA VU

ANTI-EXPLOITATION, written by Lara Vu, is an animated video poem, elaborating on the concept of exploitation not only of others but also of yourself. Produced by Indira Cesarine and animated by Tadas Staponavicius, with music “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” by the Pilots.

LARA VU

Lara Vu joined the Latin American and Caribbean Regional office of UNICEF in January 2007 to manage regional, corporate partnerships and to support related activities in 24 countries within the region. Vu came to the region with over 10 years of experience working in both the public and private sector. Since 2004, Vu fulfilled a similar role managing corporate partnerships at the U.S. Fund for UNICEF.

Prior to her move to UNICEF, Lara was Associate Director of International Business Development at WebMD, a billion dollar, publicly-traded, healthcare technology and publishing company based in NYC for four years. In this role, Vu established private and public sector partnerships in over 13 countries of Asia, Latin America, Europe, and North America. Previous to this, Vu was a senior consultant for the national healthcare practice of Ernst & Young, LLC in the U.S. for three years.

Vu earned her Masters in Public Health with Honors from Yale University in 1997. As an International Downs Fellow, she worked with the Ministry of Health to develop her thesis about the effects of healthcare policies on maternal and child health in Vietnam. During this time, Vu was also a researcher of public-private sector partnerships for the World Health Organization based in Geneva. Before this, Vu received her Bachelors of Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
