Tina: Can you share your latest product obsessions, from skincare, to nail polish, and fragrance?
Jasmine: My favorite scent right now is Air Di Gioia by Giorgio Armani. I’m obsessed with a line called Root Science. It has all natural, organic ingredients to cleanse your skin. I’m always down for rose water spray on the face before putting on makeup or after a good cleanse. I usually get my nails done at Valley Nail because they do really awesome designs that you wouldn’t get at a regular nail salon. I usually get a gel coat, too.

Tina: What beauty advice did your mother give you that you have found helpful as you mature?
Jasmine: My mom is all about being natural and believes in the beauty of growing old. She has always told me to love my natural self and even though makeup is cool and awesome to play with, I should always love myself and make sure I appreciate the way I’m made. I think that is the best advice.

Tina: Are there any style and beauty icons that inspire you?
Jasmine: I think my top two would have to be Sophia Loren and Lisa Bonet. They are so different and yet both really speak to me. I remember seeing them both on screen and seeing myself in them, and relating to them as women and trying to find pieces to add to my closet that looked like something they would wear. With Sophia, it was her curves and her confidence and elegance. With Lisa, it was that she was mixed just like me and she had this coolness and swagger that just melted off of her. She can wear anything and it works.

Tina: Do you like to mix it up with favorite looks from different eras?
Jasmine: Yes, I think that’s my favorite thing to do. I like to experiment and try not to just put myself in a box. If it works, it works! To me there are no rules in fashion.

Tina: What qualities do you think make a woman sexiest?
Jasmine: When a woman feels comfortable in her own skin. I think confidence comes from within and when a woman can understand that, she can find it within herself and it doesn’t matter what the world thinks. Nothing can stop her.
