CARLOS MIELE – NEW YORK S/S 2012 FASHION SHOW

CARLOS MIELE FASHION SHOW VIDEO BY XXXX MAGAZINE

Pure, electric colours sent shock-waves down Carlos Miele’s S/S catwalk. As squeezed straight from a new tube of paint onto a clean, white palette, tangerine orange nad aqua-marine empowered what, was otherwise a clean palette collection. In contrast to the blocks and columns of colour which infused the collections maxi-dresses and skirts,  the collection also included an eye-catching seletion of beach-wear coverups featuring the designer’s S/S graphic prints.

The prints took up Miele’s shocking colour pallette but with an added touch. It was as if the designer has taken up an artist’s brush, dipped in grey and white paint and brushed through his blocks of pure colour to created a painterly graphic with a somewhat melted, blended appearance – very feminine. The prints stepped onto the catwalk styled over simple white swimsuits over which they appeared like floating power orbs around the striding models. Very other worldly! Clinched in waists, deep-cut necklines and sky-high slits brought the audience back to the simple and sexy make-up of the collection’s key trends.
