Opening Ceremony debuted their Spring/Summer 2018 collection by taking fashion off the runway and onto the stage. Spike Jonze took the lead in directing the one of a kind performance piece, Changers, A Dance Story. Choreographed by Ryan Heffington, this incredibly artistic and intimate debut featured actors Mia Wasikowska, Lakeith Standfield, Matty Oaks, and Lauren Yalango-Grant, to name a few.

Changers explores the evolution of relationships with a narrative told not through words, but through movement and dance. The story watches the romance between a man (Stanfield) and a woman (Waskiowska) develop and grow over time as they navigate the intricacies of monogamy.

The show, presented by American Express Platinum & Opening Ceremony, ran for four nights during New York Fashion Week and was open to the public. On Friday, September 15th, The Untitled Magazine was invited to a special closing performance followed by a panel discussion featuring the founders of Opening Ceremony, Director Spike Jonze, moderator Natasha Lyonne, and talent from the show. In the audience, you could spot attendees including Frank Ocean, Daniel Craig, Flaviana Matata, Helena Christensen, Justin Peck, and many others. This was truly a remarkable event that will hopefully encourage more creatively inspired performances at fashion weeks to come! Along with a completely unique concept that was beautifully executed, Changers also made an impact on the current crisis in Texas. The proceeds of the show went to supporting the Greater Houston Community Foundation’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
