Tina: Do you and the other gals of Riverdale share beauty tips and products in the makeup trailer?

Marisol: We compliment each other a lot and like all women, we share when something works for us. Whether it’s products we like or a treatment or a facial, we’re in the business of feeling good about ourselves. So if we come across something we like, we like to share the wealth.

Tina: Can you compare and contrast your real life beauty routine to your character’s Hermoine Lodge?Marisol: Yes, I think Hermione is way more meticulous. I think she has learned to do her own makeup over the years, but she’ll still go and get a blow-out at least once or twice a week. I think having come from so much money she probably uses extremely expensive products and is a lot more organized than I am.

She never forgets to take off her makeup and she’s always taken very good care of herself. I, on the other hand, have been guilty of going to sleep with makeup on and I swear by coconut oil as the best makeup remover and moisturizer in the world. I do my own hair and I’ll use a variety of different products from drugstore to high end.

While Hermione is always done up, I’m more laid back. I wear less makeup in my real life and I like to keep things simple.

Tina: Your skin glows! How have you altered your skincare regimen in the past few years? Do you splurge on any treatments or facials?

Marisol: Yes, I swear by the new technology of different lasers and light treatments to keep skin looking healthy and beautiful. I discovered Laser Genesis a few years ago and I absolutely swear by it.

In addition, Joanna Vargas has introduced me to facials utilizing micro-currents. What a miracle it is. Her lasers and facials are amazing. As far as products I’m always trying new things. I’m always amazed at the results you can get from new lasers and lights. It’s truly miraculous technology.

Tina: You’re in amazing shape! What are your go-to fitness and diet practices?

Marisol: My go-to diet is always 1st Personal. It’s what’s worked for me for over 10 years. However, I’m also one of those strange individuals who really loves vegetables so I went plant-based for a while and loved that, and have even dived into keto. But for me, keeping things simple has always worked the best – and not being too hard on myself.

As far as exercise, I’m also a little odd in that I believe less is more. In other words, instead of doing hard-core runs or sprints or any of that in terms of cardio, I get better results from walking. I get good results from Pilates and light strength training 2 times a week.

I’ve never responded to “no pain, no gain” or CrossFit. My body prefers things lighter and gentler and I get better results that way. Whenever I push too hard or too often I find my body reacts as if it’s injured and won’t drop weight or become lean no matter what. I know that’s not popular, but that’s just what’s worked for me.

Tina: Are there any beauty tips your mom passed on to you that you still practice to this day?

Marisol: My grandma was always laughing and giggling, dancing and dressing up in full makeup up until her 90’s. I don’t know if it’s a beauty tip but her enjoyment of life was infectious and I believe how you feel on the inside reflects how you appear on the outside.

Tina: Fill in the blank – the qualities that make a woman most attractive are _____?

Marisol: Happiness, strength, and ability.
