SPRING/BREAK Art Show
Jo Andres: Before Your Eyes
OLD SCHOOL, 32 Prince Street, NYC
May 2nd-May 15th

SPRING/BREAK has announced their return in May for a special exhibition under its SECRET SHOW banner, this year, coinciding with the Spring Arts Week in New York with the work of legendary Downtown pioneer Jo Andres from May 2nd-May 15th.

Exhibiting familiarity in NoLiTa’s OLD SCHOOL, the original home of SPRING/BREAK Art Show, SPRING/BREAK maintains that the collaborative nature of Andres’ wide body of work is highlighted by the fair again returning to the site of its first locale. Andres’ decades-long collaborations with fellow Downtown New Yorkers like DANCENOISE, Mimi Goese of Hugo Largo, Tom Murrin and her partner, actor and director Steve Buscemi, all fit the neighborhood focus of the Prince Street space. As stated in the press release, this same space has shown in SECRET SHOWS past, “…the works of or curated by other neighborhood locals and organizations like Toyo Tuschiya, The New Museum, Jim Jarmusch, Lucy Sante, Sara Driver, Arielle de St. Phalle, Noah & Lewie Kloster, Ori Carino & more.”

Curators Stephanie Acosta & Laurie Berg with Jo Andres’ work and partner Steve Buscemi, SBNY 2023.

SPRING/BREAK states that curating her work as with the smaller September NYC show at S/BNY 2023 upon which this broader revue of works is based, will be Stephanie Acosta, Laurie Berg, and Christina Massey. The exhibition will be co-produced by Anna Adams Stark and co-presented by The Jo Andres Archive.

SHOW HOURS:
Mon – Sun, 12pm – 6pm daily*
*by appointment only on May 6, 7, and 13
