On January 31st, the Whitney Museum of American Art’s annual Art Party made its long-awaited return after a two-year hiatus. The event, hosted by the Whitney Contemporaries, raises funds for the museum’s world-renowned Independent Study Program. ISP has remained one of the country’s leading postgraduate programs in studio art, curatorial studies, and critical studies since its founding in 1968, and provides essential support to living artists throughout their careers.

This year’s Art Party, a mainstay of New York’s art and philanthropy scenes, was co-chaired by Ashley Graham, Karen Elson, Rebecca Hall, Morgan Spector, Rachel Rossin, Edward Barsamian, Steven Beltrani, and Micaela Erlanger. The museum welcomed emerging artists and guests hailing from the worlds of art, fashion, business, philanthropy, and entertainment for a night of exclusive exhibition viewing, DJ sets by QuestLove and The Muses, and cocktails. Among the attendees were Robin Arzón, Tracy Anderson, Grace Atwood, Candace Bushnell, Jennifer Fisher, Malcolm Jenkins, and Untitled’s own editor-in-chief Indira Cesarine.

Beyond the festivities in the Whitney’s Kenneth C. Griffin Hall, guests were treated to exclusive access to the museum’s ongoing exhibitions, including Edward Hopper’s New York, no existe un mundo poshuracán: Puerto Rican Art in the Wake of Hurricane Maria, and Every Ocean Hughes: Alive Side. Multidisciplinary artist and co-chair Rachel Rossin, whose eminent work examines the effects of technology on the human psyche, designed exclusive merchandise for the event. Rossin is known for her pioneering digital art that blends painting, sculpture, new media, gaming, and video to create intricate digital landscapes.
