ZEYNEP TOSUN – LONDON F/W 2012 FASHION SHOW

Zeynep Tosun is one of the foremost fashion designers coming out of Turkey, and her futuristic Fall 2012 collection, shown during the House of Evolution show, cemented that reputation.  The collection both referenced traditional Japanese garments, and fabrics, with many looks consisting of deconstructed or re-imagined kimonos.  Pieces in the collection done in thin, gauzy fabrics, were layered on top of one another, causing their calligraphy-like patterns to merge together. The hair and makeup echoed the futuristic samurai tone, with the model’s hair in high buns with long straight pieces hanging down, and eyes and eyebrows totally whited out.
