This year’s Brooklyn Artist’s Ball, the annual fundraising gala for the Brooklyn Museum, raised over $1.5 million to support the institution’s exhibition and education programs. On April 17th, over 700 guests from the art, philanthropy, business and music worlds gathered at the museum, this year decked out to match its buzzy David Bowie retrospective, to honor artists Robert Gober and Donald Moffett. Attendees dressed up in glam rock-inspired attire for an after dinner dance party DJed by Swizz Beatz.
Notable guests included Mickalene Thomas, Dustin Yellin, Cindi Leivi, Adam Selman and Brian “KAWS” Donnelly. Anne Pasternak, Brooklyn Museum’s Shelby White and Leon Levy Director, thanked the crowd: “It’s because of you that the Brooklyn Museum is on the path to becoming the most trailblazing and courageous museum on the planet,” she said.
