Kim Riedle is a German actress who has captivated audiences with her powerful and versatile performances. Born and raised in a small town in southern Germany, Riedle has established herself as a character actor with an exceptional ability to completely transform for her roles.

Riedle’s breakout performance came in the 2017 film “Back for Good,” for which she received nominations for the German Film Award and German Screen Actors Award. Since then, Riedle has continued to impress audiences with her work on the Netflix series “Skylines” in 2019 and, most recently, in the lead role of the Netflix hit “Dear Child,” which was released in September 2023. The limited six-part series quickly rose to the top positions in over 80 countries and is currently holding a spot in the global top ten of Netflix’s Most Popular TV Shows of all time (non-English).

Riedle’s ability to portray powerful, unconventional characters with great fragility, depth, and versatility has earned her critical acclaim. She is known for her transformative approach to her craft, with the clothes and costumes she wears playing a crucial role in her performance.

“My interest for fashion and clothes is tightly connected to my work as an actor,” Riedle explains. “In my work, the clothes a character wears inform my performance in the way that on a physical and visceral level they help me tap into parts within myself that I want to find to play the role. The collaboration with a great costume designer helps create a character and supports the actors’ portrayal of it.”

Riedle’s passion for fashion and its connection to her acting is evident in her work. She sees couture as not just about beauty, but as a means of storytelling, where the clothes themselves have a strong character that she can become a part of and transform through.

Currently based in Berlin, Riedle continues to captivate audiences with her mesmerizing performances, cementing her status as one of the most versatile and compelling actresses in the industry today.
