Tove Lo has teamed up with SG Lewis and released her latest EP Heat via Pretty Swede Records on June 14th. The internationally acclaimed artists will perform together at Glastonbury Festival on June 28th.

Each track of the EP is a highlight in its own right. “Let Me Go OH OH” takes inspiration from club sounds of the late 90s and early 2000s. “We wanted to make something with a similar temperature as Kylie’s ‘Can’t get you out of my head,'” Tove Lo Said. “Sexy, cool and hypnotic.”

“Busy Girl” was written for the unapologetic bitch and drag queens with a strong influence in 2000s electro-house. “Desire,” the last track of the EP, is a full-blown 90s fantasy. Lewis said that she intended the song to be emotional, saying that it’s “something that could be played at the end of the night.”

The duo has also released an NSFW music video series directed by David Wilson for the EP. The music video was filmed at Electrowerkz, an iconic London LGBTQIA+ club. Tove Lo said that she wanted the visuals of the EP to reflect the “free, open, and sexy energy” they’ve put into the music, along with their “queer fans who inspired [them] to make these songs.”

As such, the pair selected Wilson as their director because of his involvement in the LGBTQIA+ club scene.

“We wanted the video to celebrate the queer community, and for the shoot itself to be a big sweaty party,” Lewis said. “Once we met David on Zoom, we had full trust in his visions and gave him full creative control.”

Heat consists of four music videos depicting the protagonist Ali as she explores the fictional Queer nightclub “Club Heat.”

This is a depiction of queer London nightlife now: the queer scene in 2024, where the non-binary queer crowd is the predominant force,” said Wilson. “The aim was to represent queer joy personified, uncensored, and undiluted.”

To celebrate the release of Heat, Tove Lo and SG Lewis threw a CLUB HEAT party in West Hollywood on June 13th. Spotify donated the proceeds to The Trevor Project, a nonprofit focusing on suicide prevention in the LGBTQ community. CLUB HEAT is scheduled to return at the Glastonbury Festival, featuring a DJ set on the Lonely Hearts Club Stage on Friday, June 28.

Dirt Femme is the fifth studio album for the Sweden-born Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and artist. In 2014, her full debut Queen of The Clouds went platinum. The track “Habits (Stay High) went quintuple-platinum while “Talking Body” went double platinum. The two-time GRAMMY-nominated artist has collaborated with Charli XCX, Nick Jonas, Flume, Coldplay, and Alesso, selling out shows across the globe.

Notably, Tove Lo collaborated with Ellie Goulding to create the quintuple-platinum “Love Me Like You Do” for Fifty Shades of Grey, which won her nominations at the Golden Globe Awards and the GRAMMY Awards ceremonies.

Like Tove Lo, Lewis is incredibly accomplished. He is one of the most sought-after producers collaborating with Elton John, Clairo, Khalid, Victoria Monet, Raye, and more. His debut album times and last year’s AudioLust & HigherLove were released to critical acclaim with his total stream count now at 1.7 billion.

Behind the scenes, SG Lewis has produced Dave’s breakout track “100M’s” and co-wrote “Hallucinate” for Dua Lipa’s record-smashing GRAMMY-nominated number one album, Future Nostalgia

Lewis is also highly regarded in the fashion world. Louis Vuitton launched their pre-fall campaign with Soulwax’s remix of “Impact,” featuring Robyn & Channel Tres. He has also DJ’d at parties for Hermes, Vogue + more.
