Two of EDM’s biggest players, Galantis and NGHTMRE, have come together for a dynamic collaboration that features the best of each act’s amazing producing talents. The single, “Tu Tu Tu (That’s Why We),” featuring vocals from Liam O’Donnell, comes out today, and boasts a deliriously catchy island beat and thumping baseline that crescendos into an eruption of funk by the song’s conclusion. Island-style production and bouncy tracks of this nature are typically reserved for explosive Summer singles, but for Galantis and NGHTMRE, it’s as if the season is still in full swing.

On writing the song with Galantis, NGHTMRE candidly sad that “Galantis has been an inspiration to me for years. I’ve looked up to those guys since the Miike Snow and Style of Eye days. Writing “Tu Tu Tu” with them was a really special experience and something a little different for both of us!”

Respectively, Galantis stated “I‘ve been a big fan of NGHTMRE for a long time, and Tyler even did a remix of my song “Hunter”, so finally being able to get into the studio with him was inspiring. The pandemic gave us more time together than we normally would have, and allowed us to really be creative. I think the end result is something timeless and unique.

Since forming and debuting live at Coachella in 2014 (what a way to make an entrance), the dup have not slowed down. Afterward, the duo has released three hit albums, Pharmacy, The Aviary and Church, embarked on several world tours and launched a slew of successful singles. Their live shows are known for high-octane and bombastic stunts that keep the pace and energy up at all their performances.

More focused on trap, dubstep, and future bass music, Tyler Marenyi, better known as NGHTMRE, got his start around the same time as Galantis by remixing popular songs from like likes of Skrillex, Tiësto and Rae Sremmurd. From there, the American DJ began producing his own singles, eventually signing onto Diplo’s label Mad Decent. From there, his burgeoning career took off, with collaborations with mainstays like Dillon Francis, Flux Pavilion, The Chainsmokers and even Wiz Khalifa. His sold out live performances are known for their insane energy and zeal, snagging him spots at Electric Zoo, Lollapalooza, and countless other worldwide festivals. His many collabs include the hit singles “CASH COW” with Gunna, “Man’s First Inhibition” with ZHU, and“REDLIGHT” with A$AP Ferg.

To some, all electronic dance music is cut from the same cloth, but in truth it is far harder to marry the many EDM sub-genres than you would think. The two artists come from completely different ends of the EDM spectrum, but manage to bring it all together in a celebration of what makes each of their specialties shine.
