Actor, perpetual college student, filmmaker, and now…rock star. Is there anything James Franco doesn’t do? The Spider Man star recently formed musical duo, Daddy, with fellow artist, Timothy O’Keefe. The two met while in school and make music that pushes the ‘art of sampling’ into an act of total appropriation of sounds, moments, and archetypes.
Daddy have just released a video for the Prince Rama Remix of their track, “I’m A Sword Swallower.” Directed by Franco, the very NSFW video features a raucous happening at the Chateau Marmont. Of the clip, he states:
“Everything gets wild at the Chateau Marmont. Bungalow 2, where they rehearsed Rebel Without a Cause in the 50s and Nicholas Ray had his affair with young Natalie Wood. Some hippies threw a party, and things got wild.”
